Multi-million selling artist Tom Jones is coming to the Proact Stadium for one night only on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
The Voice judge will bring his amazing Welsh sound to Chesterfield this summer. It will be the second concert to be staged at the home of the Spireites, following on from Elton John’s appearance in the summer of 2012, which attracted an audience of around 15,000.
Although Tom is best known for hits including Kiss, Delilah and If I Only Knew, he is first and foremost a rocker with true rhythm and blues soul. His 40-year career has seen highlights including receiving a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement and a knighthood in 2006 for services to music.
Chesterfield chairman Dave Allen commented: “I am absolutely delighted that we have secured the booking of the one and only Tom Jones. Yes, we’ve finally pulled it off! He is without doubt one of the world’s best acts. For over five decades, he’s been at the very top of the tree, playing to packed audiences all over the world.”
Producer Liz Hobbs MBE added: “Chesterfield have been so keen to have Tom perform at the stadium. I cannot tell you how delighted I am to have helped realise this dream for the club. Watch out for an awesome night!”
See Tom Jones live at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium for one night only! Tickets will be available on pre-sale to Chesterfield supporters on January 22/23 and on general sale from 9am on Friday, January 24. They are priced from £39.
